Audit Senior 

Clarke Nicklin Chartered Accountants are recruiting for a qualified/QBE Audit Senior to join their team, with the role consisting of predominantly Audit, with some accounts based work and ad hoc assignment work.

The clients worked on will be mainly Owner Managed businesses and entrepreneurial businesses, including groups, plus some charitable and not for profit entities.

The hours of work are 37 and a half hours per week, with flexible hours of work between the hours of 8am and 6.30pm, subject to client requirements.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a commercially minded qualified/QBE accountant, who is looking to continue or even widen their experience and challenge themselves to work on a wide range of interesting clients within a leading independent and ambitious practice in the area.

 Duties of the role include:

  • Leading audit assignments
  • Completion of audit planning
  • Liaison with clients on organisation of the work and work requirements, and being part of the client relationship team
  • Oversee and manage the on the job audit team on a job by job basis
  • Review audit teams work
  • Deal with completion section of audit
  • Report to manager and partner
  • Oversee and review some accounts preparation assignments
  • Be involved in other ad hoc advisory and support assignments for clients

Skills and personal qualities

The successful candidate should:

  • be commercially minded and analytical when reviewing and preparing figures and information
  • have worked in an accountancy practice and have experience of running audits
  • have strong Microsoft office suite skills especially Excel
  • have knowledge and experience of accounting software such as Sage, Xero, Quickbooks
  • be able to respond well to balancing work loads..
  • be able to communicate well and have strong client facing skills.
  • work well in a team and with a wide range of people.
  • be organised and methodical.
  • have strong analytical and project management skills.
  • be proactive and able to take the initiative.
  • be able to motivate and inspire colleagues.

Receptionist/Support Services Assistant 

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a receptionist/support services assistant to join our thriving accountancy and advisory business based in Cheadle. The role will combine being responsible for “front of house”, all key support services duties, as well as supporting other functions such as marketing and finance.

Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Meet and greet clients in a professional manner, delivering a 5 star client experience
  • Managing incoming calls and directing them appropriately
  • Manage incoming and outgoing post
  • Database management
  • Coordinate meeting room bookings
  • Supporting the Marketing team with various tasks, including regular mailshots, seminars, events, and database management
  • Take responsibility for organising facilities maintenance
  • Monitor housekeeping standards and ensure that all client areas are kept tidy and presentable Ad hoc typing
  • Ad hoc administration tasks

The Ideal Candidate:

The ideal candidate will be well presented, intelligent, confident and be able to multi-task. We are looking for somebody who is hardworking and who loves a challenge. Having good communication skills, both written and verbal, is must for this position as you will be the first port of call for new and existing clients over the phone and face to face.

The role is a full time role, with hours of work being 37.5 hours either 9am to 5.30pm or 8.30am to 5pm.
