We have teamed up with food-focused multi-disciplinary business Foodsync to host the first Stockport Food and Drink Awards on the 20th June. Clarke Nicklin who are organisers and main sponsors of the Stockport Business Awards have been working with Foodsync to support the first Stockport Food and Drink Trade show giving food and drink businesses and suppliers the opportunity to connect to people producing great stuff with passion and purpose; the aim is to bring those business closer to local suppliers within a 60 mile radius of Stockport.
Throughout the day St Mary’s Church will host various speakers such as Sam Buckley (Where the Light Gets In) Paul Jones (Cloud Water Brewery) Matt Nutter (Allotment Vegan Restaurant) Chris Dee (Gunner Cooke) as well as around 100 exhibitors.
The Trade show will be opening at 10am within the Stockport market area and will wrap up at 4pm, where attendees are then invited to the after show party at Robinsons Brewery. The Bakers Vault will be welcoming guests of the after show party for a free drink between 4-5 and then Robinsons will open their doors at 5pm. The after show party will give guests the opportunity to carry on those conversations with new contacts, there will be drinks on arrival, and various tasters from food and drink retailers from Stockport, including Where the Light Gets In, La Cantina, and Angkor Soul. The evening will feature some informal awards to celebrate the successes of food and drink retailers within and around the Stockport area. The categories are:
- Best Ethical food project
- Best Supplier (Non-Food)
- Best Producer (Food/Drink)
- Best Restaurant/Place to eat
- Sustainability in action award/Best supply chain
- Best casual eats/Best cheap eats
- Best drinking establishment
- Best food and drink newcomer
- Best Street food
- Best digital feed/Instagram Feed/social media presence
Each category will be judged by a diverse panel of judges within the Stockport community. Shortlisted businesses will be contacted before the event and winners announced on the evening.
